The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “My ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of whom will be in Hell except one group.” Sahaba said: “Who are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “(Those who follow) that which I and my companions follow.”
Aqeedah refers to those matters which are believed in, with certainty and conviction, in one’s heart and soul. They are not tainted with any doubt or uncertainty. The Arabic word ‘aqeedah stems from the root ‘aqada, which conveys meanings of certainty, affirmation, confirmation, etc.

Eid-al-Fitr is one of the two eids in a year that we celebrate as Muslims. But many people are unaware of the Sunnah and etiquette of this day. Here are few pointers of what you must do on that day.
Many Muslims restrict it to only one night, i.e. 27th Of Ramadan. Yes, that is more likely to be the night of Al-Qadr, but it is incorrect to single it out based on various evidences in hadeeth narrations… The Night of Al-Qadr is not specified to one fixed night each year. Rather, it constantly changes… Allaah has hidden knowledge of its occurrence from His servants out of mercy for them so that they can increase their actions in the search for it during these honorable nights, by praying, making dhikr and supplicating. So they grow and increase in the nearness to Allaah and His reward.
It is commonly observed that the masajid are overcrowded in Ramadan and empty in other months. This means that many people do not offer salat in Jamaat other than in Ramadan. When in fact, if a man stays in neighborhood of a masjid, his prayer is not valid if he prays at home without a genuine reason. This view is proven from Qur’an, Sunnah, belief of Sahaba and opinions of scholars.
