The basic concept of Jesus being God is believed to be derived from Bible. However the concept of Jesus not being God could also be taken out from the same Bible. In fact things become very clear when both the claims are seen together, as done by Dr Jearld Dirks, who graduated from the Divinity school from Harvard University and is a former minister (deacon) of the United Methodist Church, in his talk on ‘Is Jesus God?’.
Jesus (pbuh) clearly prophesied Muhammad (pbuh) as his successor in the Bible. Yet people do not think about those lines. People have readily accepted the more common interpretation of successor being the Holy Spirit. However unprejudiced reading clearly suggests that it is not the Holy Spirit that is prophesied.
Dr. Dirks is a former minister (deacon) of the United Methodist Church and revert to Islam. He holds a Master’s degree in Divinity from Harvard University and a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Denver.
