======================================================== Articles in this Series : – Introduction to ‘Hadith: The Integral Part of Islam’ – Article 1: What are Hadeeth…
This article is not for those who have not reflected and pondered upon the ayaat in Qur’an quoted in previous articles wherein we were “Referring to Allah”. This article insha’Allah will increase the faith of believer in “obeying the messenger”.
We see numerous ayaat in Qur’an where Allah clearly mentions the importance of Authentic Sunnah & Hadiths and the scholars who rely on them. This has to be the basis of our deen, and aqidah. Any self-interpretation of deen that goes against the Quran, Sunnah and the consensus of Scholars has no value.
The role of Messenger (SAS) can be categorized into four:
1. Reciting the verses of Quran to everyone
2. Purifying or sanctifying people.
3. Teaching the book
4. Teaching the wisdom
It is important that we understand that each of these roles was intended by Allah Himself and to state that only the first function is of permanent significance is simply to flout the Word of Allah.
“He does not speak on his own, out of his own desire. That is but a Revelation that is revealed to him.” (Translation of Qur’an 53:3-4)
The term Hadeeth has become a synonym for the term Sunnah, though there is some difference in their meanings. Sunnah, as a technical term in the Science of Hadeeth, refers to whatever statements, acts, approvals, physical or character descriptions that are attributable to the Prophet (pbuh) along with his biography before or after the beginning of his prophet hood. Hadith on the other hand are the recordings of Sunnah.
Recent developments have increasingly led people in doubts regarding the relevance of Hadith, the wonderful source of knowledge, which is inseparable and the most essential element when it comes to practically submitting to the will of Allah. So it becomes necessary that a full series of articles be written in detail concerning the importance of Hadiths for people who want to learn with an open heart and an unprejudiced mind.
It is important to clear our doubts regarding Islam from people of knowledge. Indeed it is the way of companions of Muhammad (sas) to clear doubts regarding Islam. But we are supposed to ask for evidences from Quran and authentic Hadiths (Saheeh Hadiths) because blind following may lead to Shirk; the unpardonable sin. Read more for details.
Some Ahadith hold a distinct place and are termed as Ahadith Qudsi (Sacred Traditions). Generally Ahadith are traced back to the Prophet (pbuh) as regards their authority, but the authority in Ahadith Qudsi is attributed to Allah through the Prophet (pbuh). The distinction between the Qur’ an and Ahadith Qudsi is that the Qur’ an is in the direct wording of Allah as from Al-Lauh Al-Mahfu: (the Preserved Tablet) while Ahadith Qudsi are from Allah as to the meaning and from the Prophet as to the wording.
We are producing here a collection of Ahadith Qudsi relating to the important aspects of daily life so that the readers may get benefited from it for the success in this life as well as in Hereafter. Original text of the Ahadith in the Arabic language is also given with the English translation because the translations do not convey the full meanings of the original language.
